The Paralegal degree program prepares students to enter the legal field as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant. Under the guidance of an attorney, paralegals are qualified to research legal issues, interview clients, draft legal documents, prepare pleadings, review and analyze documents, organize trial notebooks, and conduct day to day operation of a legal office.
Students also learn about contracts, estate planning, wills, trusts, estate taxes, estate sales, joint tenancy, and judicial determination of death are also covered. In addition, the program also covers family law and criminal law.
The Criminal Justice program provides a broad understanding of the criminal justice system and introduces law and legal procedures, along with criminal evidence and criminology. Advanced studies include the study of the criminal justice system and expands into areas such as gang activity, drug operations, and criminal justice management.
